We are the leading UK based organisation promoting the benefits of remote working and providing services to individual and corporate members.

Here you will find helpful information about the benefits of teleworking and how working from home, or other locations, can benefit individuals, employers, society, the economy and the environment.

If you are working at a distance from your colleagues or your base, using communications technology to do your work, you are a teleworker, whatever job you do, and whether you are employed, self employed, or an independent professional. You will have much in common with other people who work from home or a remote location and you are likely to benefit from individual membership of the Association. If you are just thinking about working from home or setting up a business at home then we provide a wealth of information for individual teleworkers.

We also support employers who want to benefit from implementing telework as part of their HR strategy or as an element of their disaster recovery plan. Corporate membership of the Association brings advice and help in how to implement home and remote working without falling into some of the legal and managerial pitfalls.

But above all we believe that in the 21st Century teleworking is a natural way of achieving outputs without the hassle of commuting or the conflict between home and work. It is a way of:

  • increasing productivity whilst reducing pollution,
  • increasing the quality of life for individuals whilst reducing absenteeism from work, and
  • increasing the competitiveness of the UK economy whilst reducing the stresses of modern life
